At first glance, the worlds of aesthetic medicine and the fight against breast cancer seem far apart, with very different objectives and concerns.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

However, unexpected and nuanced links are being forged between these two seemingly dissimilar fields, exploring the psychological, medical and reconstructive dimensions of the patients concerned.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the more than 20 years I've been performing facelifts, I've come across many cases of these unexpected links. <\/strong><\/p>\n

I'd like to summarize them here. The role of medicine and cosmetic surgery in health prevention is far from negligible.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The motivations behind the quest for physical perfection can be powerful and varied.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Women who turn to facelifts to reduce the signs of aging may also be inclined to consider aesthetic improvements in other parts of their body, notably the breasts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This concern may eventually lead to additional procedures such as breast augmentation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

While this does not create a direct link between facelift surgery and breast cancer, it does highlight the complexity of aesthetic choices and their possible repercussions.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Paradoxically, this approach can even have an indirect positive effect by encouraging increased monitoring of breast health, thus contributing to earlier detection of cancer in some patients.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cosmetic surgery consultations tend to attract people in apparently good health, who tend not to consult doctors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is therefore a key screening site for many diseases.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this way, we've been able to screen for a wide range of conditions and risk factors, particularly breast cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n
